Guatemala and Kenya coffee exports october 2015 : The National Coffee Association of Guatemala have reported that the countries coffee exports for the month of October were 18,563 bags or 27.98% lower than the same month last year, at a total of 47,792 bags.
This figure is however ahead of the new crop that is only now starting to be harvested is of little consequence, as it more than likely is made up from forward sold stocks from the last crop. While in terms of the new crop the early forecasts are for this crop to be close to 10% larger than the previous crop, at approximately 3.4 million bags.

This forecast would seem to be in line with most other trade and industry forecasts within the country that have so far been indicating a figure of approximately 800,000 bags, albeit this new forecast is a little more ambitious.
coffee futures prices
Coffee futures were lower, with March arabicas off 0.80 cents, or 0.7 percent, at $1.1740 per lb and January robustas down $20, or 1.3 percent, at $1,534 a tonne.
Dealers said the market was threatening to resume its downward trend after the contract rebounded from Friday's low of $1.1530 to a peak on Tuesday of $1.1980.
"There is plenty of coffee around and specs are short and not looking as though they are going to buy back for the time being so the path of least resistance is probably lower," one dealer said, adding that weakness in broader commodity markets was also weighing on coffee.
